Interest Meeting
An interest meeting will be held October 8, 2024 at 8:30pm in Godwin Hall Room 338 on JMU's campus.
If you are auditioning or attending the audition as a clinic experience you do not need to attend. The audition process, season schedule, and questions will be discussed. ​
The meeting is not mandatory but is highly suggested for interested individuals to obtain information pertinent to the 2025 season.
Audition Information
2025 Auditions for JMU Nuance A & Open teams will be held at the James Madison University campus over the course of three days. The cost of attending auditions (including as a clinic participant) is $30 payable via Venmo or Paypal; information will be available in the registration form linked below.

October 27th: Audition Day 1

Time: 10am-7pm
​November 3rd: Final Audition Day

​All three audition dates are mandatory for those auditioning for the competitive teams.

From I-81 - Take Exit 245 turning right onto Port Republic Road. Take an immediate right at the next light onto Bluestone Drive. Take a left onto Champions Drive and the parking lot will be on your right.

From Port Republic Road - Heading East on Port Republic Road, away from JMU's main campus, you will pass Sentara Park's stadium on your left. At the stop light at Port Republic Road and Neff Avenue, turn left. The complex is located atop the hill on your left. Turn left into the parking lot U-4 immediately past the facility.

Practice Schedule
Nuance A & Open have camp weekends at the beginning of the season and begin regular weekly practices on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday as the JMU semester begins. ​Rehearsal schedule & locations are subject to the availability of practice space.
Elligibility
Per WGI rules, performers in A class cannot be not over 22 years of age as of 12:01 a.m. on April 1, 2025. performers in Open class cannot be not over 23 years of age as of 12:01 a.m. on April 1, 2025.
Competitions
Nuance is proud to compete locally within the Atlantic Indoor Association and competes on an international level at regionals and World Championships within WGI, Winter Guard International.
Audition Attire
Please wear all-black form fitting clothing to all audition dates.
Equipment
If you do not have your own flag to bring to auditions, one can be provided for you. If you have your own weapons and are interested in auditioning for a weapon line, please bring them for our weapon audition day and final audition.
